Susan Boyle Reflects on 10 Years of Fame and Celebrates 64th Birthday
Susan Boyle recently celebrated her 64th birthday in West Lothian, marking another year of life and career milestones. The singer, known for her unforgettable performance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, was surrounded by friends and loved ones for her birthday bash. Reflecting on her journey to fame and what she’s learned over the years, Susan shared some humorous and heartfelt thoughts.

A Birthday Filled with Laughter and Love
At her birthday celebration, Susan joked about the number of candles on her cake, saying, “Thank goodness they didn’t put 58 candles on it or we’d have been joined by the fire brigade.” While she celebrated her 64th, she also took a moment to reflect on her 58th birthday from a few years ago, when she was celebrating with friends near her Blackburn home in West Lothian.
“I had a lovely birthday and was thoroughly spoilt by my friends,” she said. “I got some lovely gifts, including a hamper of spa products, which is perfect for my new bathroom. It was a great day, and I felt very happy and loved by friends, family, and, of course, my wonderful fans, who sent me cards, messages, and gifts wishing me a happy birthday.”

Looking Back on 10 Years of Fame
This birthday also marks a significant milestone for Susan—10 years since she shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent. Reflecting on the impact of that moment, she shared how much her perspective has evolved over the years.
“If I could tell my younger self something, it would be not to worry and enjoy every moment and experience that comes my way,” she said, adding that she feels “older and wiser” now.
Susan also expressed gratitude toward Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell, who has supported her throughout the years. Simon had given Susan a pep talk leading up to the 2009 finale, which helped her handle the pressure of the competition. Simon recalled this moment on Lorraine, sharing how they reassured her in the face of media scrutiny, and how Susan responded with strength and confidence, even though she didn’t win that year.

A Pep Talk That Led to Success
Though Susan didn’t win Britain’s Got Talent, Simon quickly rallied behind her. He recalled how, moments after the results were announced in favor of Diversity, he whispered in Susan’s ear, “We’ve got an album deal.” He has remained a constant mentor, and she credits him as the “best boss ever.” He emphasized that from that point on, it would be up to Susan to decide when she wanted to release music, saying she was “part of the family” now.
Looking back, Susan feels thankful for the decade of opportunities and success that followed her iconic Britain’s Got Talent audition. She’s excited about the future and the chance to continue doing what she loves, enjoying the support of her loyal fans along the way.
