Simon Cowell Keeps His Home Life Private Following Burglary Threats
Simon Cowell, the longtime Britain’s Got Talent judge and music mogul, has spent decades in the spotlight—but in recent years, he’s made a conscious effort to keep his home life more private. Now 64, Simon has taken significant security measures after multiple threats to his safety, including a foiled burglary plot targeting his London home.
Last year, it was revealed that a criminal group had planned to break into Simon’s property in Holland Park. A security expert was allegedly involved in a scheme to override the locks, but police intervened before the crime could take place. In response, Simon released a statement saying: “When I was told about this story by The Sun, I couldn’t believe it. It was like something out of a science fiction film.”
The incident, along with a previous 2015 burglary during which £1 million in jewelry was stolen while Simon and his family were asleep, has led the star to tightly guard details about his residences. “There is a constant fear it may be repeated and that it may be worse next time,” he previously admitted.
Simon recently sold his £45 million London mansion and reportedly relocated to a new Beverly Hills property, though little is known about the home. His social media has remained focused on work, with rare glimpses into his private life with fiancée Lauren Silverman and their 10-year-old son, Eric.
The LA property they previously lived in—dubbed Simon’s “dream home”—was a luxurious Beverly Hills mansion he purchased for £4 million in 2004 and sold in 2020 for a staggering £19 million. That home featured six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a private movie theater, a state-of-the-art gym, spa, lap pool, solarium, and even a 24-hour service kitchen and staff quarters. Despite its extravagance, Simon kept the decor tasteful and understated, opting for a monochrome palette with minimalist touches.
Simon reportedly spent £1 million on a high-tech security system for that home—an investment that now seems essential given the continued threats. While fans occasionally see sweet photos of Simon with Eric and their dogs, he avoids sharing anything from inside their home, choosing safety and privacy for his family above all.
