A mother was told her son was dead — but a few days later, she received a call from an unknown number 😢😲

A few days ago, the village was gripped by fear. A group of young soldiers, including Anna’s son Alexey, went on a reconnaissance mission into the forest — and never returned. One officer claimed he saw them enter the dense woods, but then it was as if the forest swallowed them whole. Search parties combed the area day after day, but found nothing.

On the third day, the military officially declared the soldiers missing in action. Two days later, they were pronounced dead. The parents were given documents. Anna received a folded triangular flag and was told her son wasn’t found, but based on the circumstances, no one could have survived.

The mother was told her son was no longer alive — but a few days later, her phone rang from an unknown number.

The next day, the village held a funeral. A small procession, mournful tolling of bells, an empty coffin draped with a flag. Anna stood at the grave, clutching a handkerchief like it was the last piece of her boy. She didn’t fully believe it, but hope was fading fast.

Матери сказали, что ее сына больше нет в живых, но через несколько дней ей позвонили с незнакомо номера

She tried to accept this harsh reality.

Then, two days later, as night fell and silence filled the house, her phone suddenly rang. The number was unknown. Her heart skipped a beat — such calls usually brought bad news.

“Hello?” she whispered, barely able to breathe.

A hoarse voice replied:

“Anna Smirnova?”

“Yes, this is she…”

“Your son is here. He wants to talk to you. Hello? Ma’am? Are you alright?”

Anna couldn’t believe it. She jumped up and pressed the phone tighter to her ear.

“Yes, yes, I’m here.”

“Mom?”

“Lesha?! Is that you? You’re alive?!”

“Yes, Mom, I’m alive. We were wounded and hiding in a ravine. There was no signal. Only today did we manage to find a radio… I… I wanted to call you so badly…”

Tears of relief streamed down her face. She sobbed, clutching her chest.

“Thank God… Thank God, my son… I already buried you…”

“I know. They told me. But I’ll be home soon, Mom. I’m alive. Forgive me.”

And at that moment, even the night outside seemed a little brighter.
