Late at night, a girl called the police and said that her parents wouldn’t wake up: when the police arrived, they found something terrible 😱😱
The policeman on duty at the station sat staring at the screen of an old monitor. The clock on the wall showed ten to three in the morning – the quietest time of day. He had not received a single alarm call all night. The policeman was already yawning when the phone rang sharply.
“Duty station, I’m listening to you,” he said, picking up the phone as usual.
A thin, slightly trembling child’s voice was heard in response:
“Hello…”
The policeman frowned. The voice belonged to a girl, no more than seven years old.
“Hello, honey. Why are you calling so late? Where are your parents?
“They… they’re in the room,” she answered uncertainly.
“Great, pass the phone to Mom or Dad.”
There was a pause.
– No… I can’t, – the girl’s voice became quieter.
The man’s hands began to shake.
– Okay, then tell me what happened. You know that you can only call the police for important matters.
– I have an important… – the girl sobbed. – Mom and Dad are in the room… and they are not moving.
The policeman’s drowsiness disappeared.
– Maybe they are just sleeping? It’s already late at night.
– No. I tried to wake them up. Usually Mom always wakes up when I enter the room… but not now.
The policeman felt that something was wrong here. Instinct told him that this was serious.
– Are there any other adults in the house? Maybe grandma, grandpa?
– No… just mom and dad.
– Okay, give me your address, – he said quickly, already signaling his partner to get the car ready.
The girl dictated the street and house number. Before hanging up, the policeman said firmly:
“Listen to me carefully. Stay in your room and wait for us. Don’t go anywhere, okay?”
“Okay…” came the quiet answer.
Ten minutes later, the patrol car stopped near a small two-story house on the outskirts of the city. The door was opened by the same girl.
“They’re there…” she pointed to the bedroom door.

The bedroom was silent. A man and a woman were lying on the bed. Both were motionless, with deathly pale faces.
“Oh, my God…” one of the officers exhaled.
They called an ambulance and an investigative team. The experts immediately determined that there was no violence, no signs of a struggle. But it was worth checking the air, as everything became clear. There was a gas leak in the house. The parents suffocated in their sleep.
And the girl miraculously survived – her room was on the second floor, where the heavy gas rose weaker. She was also saved by her habit of getting up at night and opening the door: a little fresh air penetrated inside.
Nevertheless, the doctors said that the girl had also inhaled dangerous fumes – she was urgently taken to the hospital, where they later managed to stabilize her condition.
If the duty officer had not believed the girl, if he had decided that this was a childish fantasy or a stupid joke – she could have shared the fate of her parents.
