Today, my brother, having received his diploma, hurried to his father’s grave. But when he got there, he witnessed something that simply petrified him with surprise.

Today he did something that is difficult to describe in dry words. On his long-awaited graduation day, he did not go to celebrate with friends or gather his family around the festive table.

Instead, he put on a graduate’s robe, took his diploma in his hands and headed to where the most important person was always waiting for him – our father.

Father dreamed of seeing the moment when his brother would graduate from university and hold a diploma in his hands.😨😨

Now he has a diploma, but father is no longer around. Illness played a cruel joke on us, and he passed away just a few months before this day.

His last wish was to see me graduate.

And so, when the diploma was in his brother’s hands, he, without wasting a second, hurried to visit his grave. But when he got there, he noticed something that shocked him.

My brother stopped at our father’s grave, clutching his diploma tightly, as if afraid that it would slip out of his hands. But his gaze was not fixed on the monument, but on what he saw nearby. On the cold stone slab lay a fresh bouquet – rare white lilies, our father’s favorite flowers.

We both knew: neither I nor my mother were here that day. Our friends did not have such a habit either. My brother, confused, began to look around, as if hoping to see the one who left this token of memory. But there was no one around – only a light wind swaying the leaves of the trees.

He sat down by the monument, touched the flowers and suddenly whispered: “Dad is here. He remembers and waits.” His voice trembled, but there was such confidence in these words that a chill ran through my body.

We stayed at the cemetery longer than we had planned. It seemed like time had stopped completely. My brother allowed himself to smile for the first time in a long time – through tears, but sincerely. And most importantly, we were sure that our father, looking down from heaven, would definitely be happy for us.
