1. The Warning on the Bus
Sofía, a weary accountant living in the outskirts of Madrid, lives a life of routine and financial struggle. Her marriage to Marcos has grown cold; he is unemployed, secretive, and fixated on selling the only thing of value Sofía owns: a beautiful country estate in Miraflores inherited from her beloved grandmother, Doña Isabel.
One evening on the #17 bus, Sofía gives up her seat to an elderly woman in a green beret. The woman leans in and whispers a bizarre, specific warning:

The police investigation reveals a calculated plot:

The mystery of the old woman is solved. She was Doña Carmen, a retired jeweler and the lifelong best friend of Sofía’s late grandmother.
Carmen had seen the suspicious order in the jewelry shop and recognized the “Marcos” name and the “Miraflores” connection. Fulfilling a deathbed promise to her friend Isabel to “watch over Sofía,” Carmen tracked her down on the bus to deliver the life-saving advice.
