Everything was ready for Daniel’s wedding.
Guests filled the elegant hall, flowers surrounded the altar, and his bride waited with a smile.
Then Daniel noticed his young son, Noah, standing alone in a corner with tears running down his face.
He immediately walked over and knelt beside him.
“What’s wrong, buddy?”
Noah hesitated.
“She told me that after today, you won’t really be mine anymore.”
Daniel froze.
“Who told you that?”
Noah quietly pointed toward the bride.
“She said we’re going to be a new family and she’ll decide when I can be with you.”
Daniel’s expression changed.
He pulled his son into his arms.
“No one gets to separate us. Ever.”
Then he stood and walked toward the altar with Noah beside him.
The room slowly became silent.
His bride looked confused.
“What’s happening?”
Daniel stopped in front of her.
“If my son is standing here crying because he’s afraid of losing his father, then something is very wrong.”
She tried to interrupt.
“He misunderstood—”
“No.”
Daniel looked at Noah and took his hand.
“My first responsibility didn’t begin today. It began the day I became his father.”
Then he turned toward the guests.
“There won’t be a wedding.”
The bride went pale.
Daniel looked at his son.
“I choose my child.”
Together, father and son walked out of the hall.
The decorations remained. The guests remained.
But the wedding was over.
