The afternoon rush filled the railway station with noise.
Passengers hurried toward departing trains while an elderly homeless man sat quietly beside a pillar, wrapped in an old blanket.
Most people walked past him without slowing down.
Then a little girl carrying a small bag of food stopped.
She smiled and held it out.
“You look sad… this is for you.”
The old man accepted it with trembling hands.
“Thank you, sweetheart. You have a very kind heart.”
Just then, the girl’s mother caught up with her.
She glanced at the homeless man.
Then she looked again.
Everything around her seemed to disappear.
“Dad… is that you?”
The old man slowly lifted his head.
His eyes widened.
“Anna…?”
The little girl looked from one face to the other.
“Mom… why are you crying?”
The woman dropped to her knees, unable to stop the tears.
“I’ve been looking for you for years.”
The old man could barely speak.
