The doctors gave the old woman only a few hours to live, and during these last hours there was only a nurse nearby: but suddenly she noticed something strange about the patient 😨😨
“Daughter, stay with me…” the old woman whispered quietly, lying on a snow-white pillow. Her eyes were tired, but a spark of hope still burned in them. “I have no one else in this world. No husband, no children. I am alone.”
The nurse leaned closer and carefully took her hand. The woman smiled – barely noticeably, as if afraid that the smile would require too much effort. There was silence in the ward.
“Once, you know, my life was completely different…” the old woman began, as if opening an invisible door to the past. “I was happy. I had a beautiful life. My husband idolized me. I enjoyed life, as if I had an eternity ahead of me…” a shadow of a smile trembled on her lips. — But we never had children. We kept putting it off, thinking: we’ll have time… And then it was too late.

She took a breath, her voice became quieter:
— So it turns out that now, when my time comes, there will be no one to even bury me. I’ll leave, and it’ll be as if I’d never lived.
The nurse felt something prick her heart. She sat down next to her, held the woman’s trembling hand tightly, and understood that she was simply afraid.
— I want to sleep a little… I’m so tired, — the woman said and closed her eyes.
The nurse stood up, getting ready to quietly leave, but suddenly noticed something strange. After that, she ran out of the room in a panic to call the doctor 😨🫣 Continued 👇👇
The patient’s fingers began to twitch slightly, as if an invisible tremor was running through her body. Her lips were dry, and her breathing became hoarse and uneven. Not like that of a dying person, but rather convulsive, like that of a person whose body is still trying to save her.
Moreover, women with such a diagnosis never have such tremors and sudden dryness of the lips, as if with dehydration.
If she is right, the old woman is not in her “last hours”. She can be saved.

– Doctor! Urgently! This does not look like her diagnosis, I’m sure!
The doctor, an experienced man of about fifty, frowned. He knew that the girl was not one to raise the alarm in vain. A minute later, the entire team was already in the ward.
The grandmother lay with her eyes closed, her lips dry, her breathing ragged. But the devices showed a strange picture: the indicators did not fall rapidly, like those of a dying patient, but seemed to jump, as with a sharp metabolic disorder.
“Give me the tests! Urgently!” the doctor commanded.
The nurse stood nearby, her heart pounding, and her hands shaking. She was afraid: what if she was wrong? What if this really was the end, and her hopes were just a false flash?
The minutes dragged on painfully long. Finally, the express test results came back. The doctor looked up, and surprise flashed in his eyes:
“This is not the terminal stage of her disease… This is a severe electrolyte imbalance. Potassium and magnesium are catastrophically low. The symptoms were masking the underlying disease. If we act immediately, she can be stabilized!”

A few hours later, when the crisis had passed, the woman opened her eyes. At first uncertainly, but her gaze was already conscious.
“Am I… still here?” she whispered.
The nurse leaned over and smiled through her tears:
“Yes. You are with us. And you still have time ahead of you. Not hours and not a day. Now you will be treated.
