Hermann pretends to be ill to stay home, but his wife Alexandra accidentally overhears him talking to his mother. He admits that he married Alexandra for money and plans to divorce her to pursue a younger woman from a wealthy family. Shocked but composed, Alexandra leaves him that same day.
Within a week, Hermann loses everything: his job, his reputation, his savings, and his illusion of control. Alexandra files for divorce, proves the apartment legally belongs to her, and takes their shared funds. Her business, which Hermann mocked as unprofitable, suddenly takes off internationally.
Months later, Hermann is living with his mother, working a low-paying job, while Alexandra becomes a successful entrepreneur with offices across Europe. When he finally realizes what he lost, it is far too late.
Moral: Greed and manipulation cost Hermann real love and stability, while Alexandra’s strength and independence lead her to success.
