Veteran German actor Eric Braeden, best known for his iconic portrayal of Victor Newman on “The Young and the Restless,” recently opened up about his ongoing battle with cancer in an emotional video. The 82-year-old actor shared that he is currently undergoing immunotherapy following a cancer diagnosis.
Braeden revealed that the diagnosis came unexpectedly during a routine checkup while he was recovering from knee surgery. Doctors discovered “high-grade” cancer cells near his bladder after he experienced prostate-related issues.
Despite these health challenges, Braeden remains dedicated to his work on the soap opera. He conveyed his deep passion for acting and his resolve to beat the illness, stating, “I’m grateful to still be able to work… I’ll be back in top form soon.”
