Olga supports her husband Pavel’s family for years, constantly giving money to his mother and sister while Pavel remains unemployed and does nothing to protect his wife. What starts as “help” turns into entitlement: Olga’s salary is treated as a family resource everyone can use.
Exhausted, Olga quits her job, stops all payments, and finally sets firm boundaries. This sparks outrage from her mother-in-law, who accuses Olga of selfishness and demands continued financial support. Pavel stays passive and sides with his mother instead of his wife.
Realizing her marriage is built on exploitation, Olga files for divorce. Pavel moves back to his mother, and Olga starts a new life on her own terms—working again, spending money on herself, and living without guilt.
In the end, Olga understands that real family doesn’t demand or drain you, and choosing herself was the right decision.
