Vanessa always hated how much her son, Leo, loved the nanny. It made her jealous. So, while her billionaire husband Richard was away on business, she decided to get rid of the “competition.”
She staged a scene, accusing Elena of being lazy and neglecting her duties. “You’re fired,” Vanessa announced with a cold smile, watching Leo sob uncontrollably as Elena packed her bags. “We need a professional here, not a peasant.”
Vanessa felt triumphant—until the front door opened.
Richard walked in, his face darker than a storm cloud. He didn’t even look at Vanessa. He walked straight to Elena, who was trembling by the door, and gently took her suitcase from her hand.
“Richard? You’re back early!” Vanessa chirped, trying to hide her nervousness. “I was just handling a personnel issue.”
“I know,” Richard said, his voice terrifyingly calm. He held up his phone, connected to the living room’s new 4K security system. “I saw the notification. I saw you ignore Leo for three hours while you were on the phone. I saw you slap his hand when he asked for water. And I saw Elena rush in to comfort him.”
He turned the screen toward Vanessa. “Elena stays. She’s the only mother figure in this house. You, however… you have ten minutes to pack.”
