In a Russian family, the birth of a black-skinned baby caused trouble: convinced that his wife had been unfaithful to him with a man from elsewhere, the husband gathered his things and disappeared.

When Marina Yurieva gave birth to a boy, her husband Igor was astonished. The child, who was supposed to fit into their family of Slavic descent, had dark skin, as if he came from a distant African country. “How is this possible?” Igor wondered. His incomprehension quickly gave way to doubt, then anger. Convinced that his wife had cheated on him with a man from elsewhere, he packed his bags and left home.

Marina, for her part, vehemently proclaimed her innocence. The doctors, however, remained perplexed, suggesting the possibility of forgotten ancestral genes. Yet, how could such a phenomenon be explained when their family had never before experienced such a genetic surprise?

Very quickly, whispers began to spread through the small town. There was talk of a certain “local African.” Fabien, a French chemist under contract at a local factory, was quickly singled out. The neighbors pointed the finger at him, and Igor, furious, put on his leather jacket, grabbed an iron bar, and started his motorcycle, determined to confront this supposed “pooper.”

But that day, tragedy struck Marina. As she walked home with her baby, she was attacked by a stranger who pushed her down the stairs before fleeing. Passersby came to her aid and also found the baby in her stroller abandoned in the hall. They called for help, and the police began searching for the attacker.

Witnesses then pointed the finger at Igor, the biker. At the same time, Igor was already interrogating Fabien, demanding that he confess to the alleged affair with Marina. It was then that the police intervened and arrested Igor, suspected not only of attacking the foreigner, but also of assaulting his own wife.

The next morning, an influential woman in the local Communist Party, Natalia Rudinskaya, appeared at the police station to provide Igor with an alibi, claiming that he was working for her at the time of the incident. Why was this figure so desperate to protect his driver? This mystery remained.

Igor and Marina decided to get to the bottom of things and agreed to undergo DNA tests. The results were astonishing: the child was not biologically related to either of them. Everything pointed to an exchange at the maternity ward.

Shortly after, two tragedies struck the medical staff: Doctor Evgenia Baryshnikova was struck by a car and died, then midwife Irina Sonicheva was found dead in the maternity ward. The staff mentioned an “intern” seen the night before the attack.

Investigators discovered that this mysterious intern was none other than Fyodor Shapoval, a repeat offender with a long criminal record, hired to make witnesses disappear and cover up the substitution of newborns. During his interrogation, he named Natalia Rudinskaya as the instigator.

It was learned that Natalia harbored a secret passion for Igor and wanted to break up her relationship in the hope of being with him. To achieve this, she bribed the maternity ward staff and ordered the baby swap. By giving the Yurieva family a black-skinned child, she hoped to provoke the breakup. But the situation got out of hand, and Natalia began eliminating those who might betray her.

The trial resulted in Natalia being sentenced to seven years in prison and Shapoval receiving the death penalty. The Yurievas were reunited with their real child. As for the black baby, he was adopted by his biological father, Fabien, the French chemist.

It turned out that the baby’s biological mother was a local woman who, fearing social judgment, had abandoned her child and hidden her motherhood.

This story shows that despite manipulation, hatred, and danger, love and trust can triumph. The Yurievas remained united, and the baby finally found his true family, a new life in France.

Thanks to their perseverance, this tragedy found a just outcome, avoiding a tragic end.
