This morning, I smelled a strange burning smell coming from the nursery. After reviewing the security footage, I realized it was the electrical outlet near the crib that had caught fire, and my child was saved by what happened next… 😨😲

This morning, around six, I walked into the nursery and immediately smelled a strange burning smell.

As if something had recently been on fire. The smell was pungent, thick… but all around was silence and calm. My baby was sleeping peacefully in his crib, not even moving. He barely woke up or cried all night, so at first I thought I was imagining it.

But as I got closer, my heart sank. The wall near the crib was black, covered in soot, and the electrical outlet was charred.

I froze. This meant only one thing: there really was a fire in the nursery. But how? Why had everything gone out already? And who put it out? No smell of smoke that night, no alarm, nothing…

With trembling hands, I grabbed the baby monitor in terror. I had to understand what had happened that night.

I rewound the recording and watched, barely blinking. The first two hours—silence. The baby slept like an angel.

But then, at about 2:30 a.m., it all happened in a matter of seconds: the outlet suddenly burst into flames. Flames shot upward, sparks flew to the floor.

A fire like that could have completely engulfed the room—and my child simply wouldn’t have survived.

I watched the video, and I felt sick. The baby was sleeping, so tiny, so defenseless… he didn’t even realize that death was just steps away from his crib.

And suddenly—movement appeared in the recording. I peered closely and couldn’t immediately believe what I saw. It’s only thanks to this that my child is still alive 😲😱 I still can’t believe it. I told the rest in the first comment 👇👇

My dog. The same one who usually slept in the living room, seemed to sense something and came into the nursery.

She saw the fire and didn’t even hesitate. She ran straight to the outlet, bit the cord, and yanked it out.

The flames diminished, began to die down, but were still smoldering. And then she… started to put them out with her paws.

When the fire was completely out, the dog sat down next to the crib and didn’t leave my baby’s side until the morning.

Later, I saw that she had burns on her paws and around her mouth. And at that moment, I understood only one thing: she saved my child.

Dear mothers, I beg you—be careful. Don’t leave appliances on near children, check old wiring, and don’t ignore strange odors.

My son is alive today only because our dog was nearby. But luck isn’t always that good.
