Immediately after purchasing a luxury home, my husband suddenly announced that his parents and recently divorced sister would be moving in with us. When I objected, he coldly replied, “The house is mine—you bought it with my money. One more word and I’ll kick you out.”
But when he arrived at the mansion with his family, they were in for an unpleasant surprise. The house was empty, and an envelope with his name was hanging on the wall. Inside were documents confirming the house was registered to me alone, a list of money transfers he had secretly withdrawn from the account, and a letter from a lawyer: access to my finances was blocked, and entering without permission was illegal.
A few minutes later, the police arrived. And instead of a “new life,” my husband and his in-laws left a house that had never belonged to them.
