Katya?! You were supposed to be with your parents! – Her husband’s voice became sharp with fear.

interesting to know

Ekaterina had spent seven years living for her husband. She woke up early to make his breakfast, memorized his habits, cared for their home, and put his comfort before her own. Roman accepted everything as normal. He rarely thanked her, barely noticed her efforts, and often seemed more interested in his phone than in his wife.

When Ekaterina went to visit her parents for a week, she kept writing long, caring messages. Roman replied with short, cold words. Still, she convinced herself he was just busy.

One day she decided to return home early to surprise him. Instead, she discovered that Roman had betrayed her. In that moment, everything became clear: his indifference, his lack of gratitude, and how alone she had felt for years.

Ekaterina asked him to leave immediately. Despite his excuses and promises, she refused to forgive him. She realized that the real mistake was not ending the marriage sooner.

Her parents supported her decision. Even when her mother-in-law blamed her, Ekaterina stood her ground and filed for divorce.

After the separation, her life slowly changed for the better. She moved to a new apartment, found a better job, took up yoga, adopted a cat, and began living for herself instead of someone who never valued her.

She was alone—but free, calm, and finally happy.
