Michael Bolton, the renowned musician best known for hits like “When a Man Loves a Woman,” recently revealed a serious health issue that arose during the holiday season.
In a social media post late last week, Bolton shared, “I want to start by wishing everyone a very happy and healthy new year! I also want to let you know that I faced some unexpected challenges in 2023.”
Bolton disclosed that just before the holidays, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which required urgent . “The procedure went well, thanks to the incredible work of my medical team. I am currently recovering at home, surrounded by the unwavering love and support of my family,” he added.
Due to the surgery, Bolton announced that he will be taking a break from touring to focus on his recovery. “I will be dedicating my time and energy to healing over the next few months, which unfortunately means I’ll have to temporarily step back from touring,” the singer explained. “It is always the hardest thing for me to cancel a show or disappoint my fans, but please know that I’m doing everything I can to recover quickly and get back to performing as soon as possible.”
