Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is embracing a new chapter in her life following her divorce from Todd Palin after 30 years of marriage. In a recent interview with The New York Post, she described the split as “earth-shattering” and “bizarre,” reflecting on how unexpected and transformative it has been for her.
Palin revealed that she discovered Todd’s divorce filing through an email from his attorney in 2019. Despite the emotional upheaval, both she and Todd appear to have moved forward. Todd is reportedly spending time with a new girlfriend, while Palin has begun dating retired New York Rangers player Ron Duguay.
Their relationship blossomed after Duguay sought advice from Palin regarding her defamation case against The New York Times. Though the lawsuit was eventually dropped, their connection deepened as Duguay became her guide around New York City during the trial. Palin described their relationship as “safe and comfortable,” noting that Duguay is the first person she has confided in about her personal struggles, offering her an escape from political discussions.
Duguay has also been supportive of Palin’s congressional ambitions. She recently announced her candidacy for the U.S. House seat in Alaska, aiming to fill the position previously held by Rep. Don Young, who passed away in March. With backing from former President Donald Trump, Palin expressed her commitment to upholding Young’s legacy and serving Alaskans with passion and dedication.
