Almost five years have passed since that day. Now I’m in college, but I still can’t forget that moment. And now, finally, I have the strength to tell you what happened then.
It was an ordinary day. After school, my younger sister and I, as always, were walking home together. We live on the top floor of a high-rise building, so, naturally, we went by elevator. At that moment, we were chatting, laughing, sharing impressions of the past day – everything was as usual.
A few seconds later, a man entered the elevator behind us, he looked about thirty-five years old, with a large blond dog. My sister and I adore dogs – and when we saw the Labrador, we were only happy. She even smiled and wanted to reach out to him, but then everything changed dramatically.
The dog suddenly froze, staring straight at my sister. Then, as if sensing something, it came right up to me, stood up on its hind legs and placed its heavy, furry paws right on my sister’s chest. She screamed sharply, almost crying from fear, and I stood there dumbfounded. We both thought the dog was going to bite.
The Labrador started barking – loudly, sharply, anxiously. The man immediately yanked the leash, sat down next to the dog, began to stroke it and say that everything was fine.
– Guys, don’t be afraid, the dog doesn’t bite.
But I cried out in tears:
– Uncle, if the dog is not dangerous, why did it attack my sister like that?! See, she’s shaking all over! I’ll tell my parents everything!

Now I study, I live on. But since then, every time I see an elevator, a dog, or just the smell of a hospital, my heart sank.
