What a difference two years can make!
On Tuesday, Simon Cowell shared a rare family photo featuring himself, his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, and their son, Eric. The heartwarming shot, taken aboard a yacht, shows the trio snuggled together, clearly enjoying their vacation in Ibiza. The music mogul, shirtless, sits next to the radiant socialite, both with arms lovingly wrapped around their 18-month-old son, who’s well-protected from the sun.
Although Cowell occasionally posts adorable snapshots of his only child, it’s rare to see the entire family together in one frame.
Speaking of family, it’s been two years since we learned about Cowell and Silverman’s relationship. In the summer of 2013, the news broke that the former X Factor judge—once adamant about never having children—was expecting a baby with Lauren. The story took an interesting turn, as she was still married to his friend, Andrew Silverman, with whom she shares a 9-year-old son. At the time, photos surfaced of the trio vacationing on a yacht (a tradition that, apparently, hasn’t changed much).
By December of that year, Lauren’s divorce was finalized, and she and Cowell eagerly prepared for the arrival of their son, Eric, who was born in February 2014. The birth seemed to spark a transformation in Simon; the once notorious “Mr. Nasty” evolved into a doting dad, proudly sharing sweet moments of his little boy on social media.
What a beautiful transformation it has been!
