When three-year-old Nazar disappeared from a playground, his mother Marina became the main suspect. Her ex-husband Oleg accused her of selling the child, while his mother presented a notebook filled with supposed proof that Marina was unstable.
Oleg even played an edited recording in which Marina appeared to threaten to disappear with the children. The police began to doubt her story.

Months later, Marina received full custody of both children. Varya’s drawing was kept in the case file, but Marina made a copy and framed it at home.
