The Glass Castle of Deceit

interesting to know

The towering glass walls of the penthouse reflected the cold, unforgiving sky of the metropolis. In this space, where the fates of multi-million dollar corporations were decided, the air was thick with arrogance. Karina held the arm of her new partner, a wealthy and self-assured executive. With a bitter sneer, she looked down at her ex-husband, Max, who stood before them in a modest suit.

“You couldn’t even keep a job,” her voice cut through the silent lobby like a knife. “You were always the biggest mistake of my life!” Her new man chimed in, aggressively pointing his finger at Max, demanding he leave the premises immediately.

Max didn’t flinch. His face showed no resentment or anger—only a faint, calm smile.

“It’s funny you talk about mistakes when you just made the ultimate one yourself,” he replied quietly, looking her dead in the eye.

“I chose success,” Karina snapped, tilting her chin up proudly. “While you remained a nobody.”

At that exact moment, the panoramic elevator doors slid open. The CEO of the multinational conglomerate stepped into the hall, flanked by security. Karina and her partner instantly put on sycophantic smiles, preparing for the crucial meeting they had spent months setting up. But the billionaire investor didn’t even look at them. He walked straight past them, bowed respectfully to Max, and handed him a leather portfolio.

“All assets have been transferred to your name, Mr. President. We await your orders,” the executive stated clearly.

The color drained from Karina’s face as her world shattered. The man she had been humiliating just seconds ago was the secret owner of the entire empire where her new partner was merely a low-level employee. Max cast one final, indifferent look at his stunned ex-wife, turned around, and walked toward his new office. Justice didn’t need to shout—it had simply put everyone in their rightful place.
