The wedding venue glowed under warm evening lights. In the main hall, guests waited for the ceremony to begin, surrounded by elegant flowers, polished tables, and carefully prepared smiles.
But beside the hall, inside the large mirror-lined room, the atmosphere was completely different.
The groom, dressed in a white suit, stepped inside after realizing his son was missing. Reflections of flowers and soft lights shimmered across the mirrors, making the room look almost perfect. Then he saw him.
His little boy was sitting alone in the corner, his eyes full of tears.
The groom rushed over and knelt in front of him.
“Sweetheart, why are you here alone?”
The boy did not answer immediately. He looked down, then handed him a small note with trembling hands.
“She said that after the wedding, I won’t live with you anymore.”
The groom’s face changed.
“Who told you that?”
The boy slowly raised his eyes toward the mirror. In the reflection, the bride could be seen in the distance, still smiling, still unaware.
“Your new wife.”
For a moment, the groom did not move.
Then he opened the note.
The handwritten message was short, but it was enough to destroy everything:
“Today is the last time you stay with your father. Starting tomorrow, he will be my family.”
The room suddenly felt colder.
The groom looked at his son. In that small face, he saw fear, pain, and one silent question: will you still choose me?
The man held the note tightly in his hand. He did not shout. He did not make a scene. But his expression became firm, cold, and final.
He took his son’s hand and stood up.
For one second, he looked at his own reflection in the mirror. He saw a man who was supposed to become a husband that day. But more than that, he saw a father who had almost forgotten what mattered first.
Then he said in a low, steady voice:
“Today I was supposed to choose a wife… but I already have a family.”
The boy squeezed his hand tighter.
Together, they walked out of the mirror room and back toward the main hall. The bride was still there, smiling, ready for everyone to look at her.
But she did not know that the groom was not coming back to begin the wedding.
He was coming back to stop
