A $10 Gesture That Changed Everything
When Officer Lane arrived, she immediately saw how much the toy meant to Sisu. Instead of simply removing the dog, she reached into her own wallet, paid $10 for the unicorn, and gave it to him. That small act of kindness made all the difference.
Sisu was taken into the care of Duplin County Animal Services, with his cherished unicorn toy now officially his.

The shelter named him Sisu, after the dragon character from Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, thanks to the toy’s unicorn-like horn and purple mane.

They also gifted Officer Lane a special thank-you and donated pet food to Duplin County Animal Services in her honor.
