A woman was demanding that my dog and I be removed from a plane, insulting us: but then something unexpected happened 😱😱
I recently had to fly home to my parents. Since I suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder after a serious accident, a certified assistance dog always accompanies me. This trained dog is not just a companion – she recognizes panic signals, helps me breathe more evenly and does not allow me to “drown” in an attack of anxiety. Without her, I simply could not cope.
We calmly took our seats on the plane: me by the window, the dog at my feet, as it should be by all the rules. But the peace did not last long.
A middle-aged woman with an expression of disgust on her face abruptly stopped when she saw the dog. She loudly, for the whole cabin to hear, said:
– Are you kidding me? I will not sit next to this dirty dog.
– This is a trained medical animal, – I answered calmly. — He will sit at my feet the entire flight. And she is not dirty.
— That is disgusting, — she snorted. — Passengers with dogs must sit in a separate section. And what if I have an allergy? Let your dog go in the baggage compartment.
I almost burst into tears. A flight attendant approached our row.
— Something wrong? — she asked softly.
— Yes! — the woman flared up. — There is a dog here. I have an allergy, and I do not feel safe.
The flight attendant explained calmly but firmly:
— Ma’am, this is a certified service dog. She has every right to be on board. And she will sit here.
— I don’t care about the rules, — the woman snapped. — He can bite! I want her and the dog removed from the flight.
The dog behaved perfectly — calmly, as befits a trained animal. And I felt my breathing getting harder and harder. Panic was starting to set in. The flight attendant asked quietly:
“Do you have your papers?”
With trembling hands, I handed over the certificate and the dog’s ID. She read it and smiled.
“Thank you. Everything is fine. You can stay.”
The woman rolled her eyes:
“Unbelievable. She doesn’t even look like a real service dog!”
“I assure you, that’s exactly what this dog is,” the flight attendant replied. “You can take your seat or, if you like, we’ll find you another one.”
“I don’t have to move! She has the animal!”
“Then, ma’am, you can stay, following the rules,” the flight attendant said calmly but firmly. “Or we can disembark you.”

The pilot approached us. He looked sternly and spoke sharply:
— Are you really allergic to dogs? Can you provide a certificate?
The woman hesitated, then muttered:
— No. I don’t have to sit with the dog if I don’t want to.
— In that case, I ask you to leave the plane, — he said in an icy tone. — You are not flying anywhere today. And I will personally make sure that you never fly with our airline again.
The cabin burst into applause. Someone even shouted: “Bravo!”
The woman began to scream, threatening with complaints, accusations, curses, but no one was listening to her anymore. She was furious, but completely isolated. She was escorted off the plane.
I remained sitting in my seat, with my hand on the warm back of my dog. He still lay calmly at my feet, as he should have.
