It all began with a late-night phone call. Lena immediately knew the tone of her husband’s voice — it was about his sister, Olga. Again. Olga had lost her apartment and needed a place to stay. “Just for a couple of weeks,” Igor promised.
Lena agreed, knowing she would regret it.
Olga moved in with suitcases, a cat, and zero respect for boundaries. She didn’t clean, spent money she didn’t have, used Lena’s things without asking, and treated the apartment like a free hotel. Igor kept defending her, paying her expenses, and asking Lena to be patient.
Weeks turned into months. Fights became constant. Lena felt like a stranger in her own home, while Igor avoided conflict by staying late at work. Finally, everything exploded during a loud argument in the kitchen.
Lena gave Igor an ultimatum: her or his sister.
