Gena, a teenage boy, struggles to accept that his mother is pregnant at what he considers a late age. When his baby sister is born, he feels distant and embarrassed, but gradually begins to care for her. Tragically, the baby falls ill and dies, leaving the family devastated and lost in grief.
While taking baby things to the countryside, Gena and his father witness a car accident and discover a surviving infant whose parents have died. The child’s name is Vasilisa—the same name once chosen for their lost daughter. Realizing this may be a chance to heal, the family decides to try to adopt the girl, finding hope and meaning after loss.
