Rod Stewart, the iconic rockstar known for his unforgettable music career, has made a surprising confession: he’s never cooked a meal in his life. In a candid interview with Rolling Stone, the 73-year-old singer admitted that he’s completely hopeless in the kitchen, having relied on the women around him—his girlfriends and now his wife—to keep him well-fed throughout his life.
Despite his legendary success in music, Rod confessed that even during his single days, he avoided cooking altogether, instead opting to dine out at local cafés. Reflecting on the 1970s, he noted that it was a common trend for men to have multiple girlfriends, and he was no exception, with each taking on the responsibility of cooking. Today, Rod continues this tradition, depending on his wife, model Penny Lancaster, and a private chef who prepares his meals three times a week.
When asked if he’s ever tried his hand at cooking, Rod’s response was straightforward: “Never. I’ve made a bit of toast and a cup of tea in the afternoon, but other than that, I’ve done nothing. Shameful. Shame on you, Stewart!” He even recalled a disastrous attempt at boiling an egg, which left his kitchen in complete chaos.
Married to Penny Lancaster since 2017, Rod shares two sons with her: Aiden, 7, and Alastair, 12. He also has children from previous relationships, including Sean, 37, and Kimberly, 39, with his first wife, Alana Stewart; Ruby, 31, with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg; and Renee, 26, and Liam, 23, with his second wife, Rachel Hunter.
