AMERICAN PICKERS’ FRANK FRITZ REMEMBERED

Frank Fritz, best known as one of the original stars of the History Channel series American Pickers, passed away at the age of 60, leaving behind a legacy built around antiques, forgotten treasures, and a genuine love of history.

His longtime friend and former co-star Mike Wolfe shared the heartbreaking news, remembering the many years they spent traveling together in search of unusual objects and the stories hidden behind them.

Fritz became a familiar face to millions of viewers when American Pickers debuted in 2010. Alongside Wolfe, he traveled across the United States visiting barns, garages, private collections, and forgotten properties, always hoping to uncover something special.

What made Fritz memorable was not simply his knowledge of antiques. Fans appreciated his humor, direct personality, and excitement whenever an unexpected discovery appeared.

His time on the program eventually came to an end after 2020 as he faced a number of personal and health challenges. In 2022, Fritz suffered a serious stroke that further affected his health and kept him away from public life.

Even after leaving television, his influence remained strong among longtime fans of the show and collectors who had followed his adventures for years.

Through American Pickers, Fritz helped remind viewers that old objects can hold more than monetary value. A vintage sign, motorcycle part, toy, or piece of advertising could preserve a small piece of someone’s life and of American history.

His enthusiasm helped turn antique collecting into compelling television and introduced an entirely new audience to the thrill of discovering forgotten treasures.

For many viewers, Frank Fritz will always be remembered as the passionate picker who could look at an overlooked object and immediately see the story behind it.
