Headline: Greedy Siblings Celebrated Early, Until The Lawyer Read The “Condition” Clause

interesting to know

The reading of the will was supposed to be a formality. Julian and Clara, the golden children of the Sterling empire, had already ordered new sports cars. They assumed their quiet brother, Lucas, would get nothing. After all, Lucas had dropped out of college to take care of their sick father full-time.

“To my children, Julian and Clara,” the lawyer read, adjusting his glasses. The siblings high-fived. “I leave you my entire collection of vintage wines… and the advice to find employment.”

The smiles dropped from their faces. “Excuse me?” Julian shouted. “What about the company? The billions?”

“The company,” the lawyer continued, “requires a CEO who understands sacrifice. Therefore, 100% of Sterling Industries and the estate is left to the only person who visited me in the hospital every single day for three years.”

The lawyer turned to Lucas and handed him the heavy leather folder. “Congratulations, Mr. Chairman.”

Julian stood up, furious. “This is a joke! He’s a nurse, not a businessman!”

“Actually,” the lawyer smiled, closing his briefcase. “He’s the owner. And I believe he just asked security to escort you off his property.”
