I can’t believe that this day, which I waited for and prepared for so long, was overshadowed by my mother-in-law’s actions. From the very beginning, she showed up at the wedding in a provocative, too-short, sparkly pink dress, high heels and gold jewelry.
It seemed like she deliberately wanted to attract attention to herself and distract attention from the bride. The guests exchanged glances, some whispered, others openly laughed. I tried not to react, but inside I was seething.

But the real nightmare began later. During the banquet, my mother-in-law got drunk to the point of unconsciousness. The music was playing, the guests were dancing, and at that moment she dragged a young guy, the same age as my husband, onto the dance floor.
What happened next is impossible to describe without disgust: she clung to him, her hands slid over his body, she laughed loudly and behaved as if she was not at her son’s wedding, but at some cheap club. People stopped to watch this nightmare, and the expressions on the guests’ faces said it all – disgust and awkwardness.

All the guests gathered around, the cameras were pointed at us, and suddenly, as if on purpose, my mother-in-law walked past, touched the table and… the cake fell to the floor.
The sweet white decoration scattered across the carpet and the guests’ dresses. Silence reigned in the hall. Someone gasped, someone turned away, and I couldn’t hold back my tears.
And the mother-in-law just smiled and said:

The husband turned pale. His face was distorted with shame and anger. He grabbed his mother by the hand and said loudly:
