My mother-in-law has always disliked my dogs. She was irritated by their barking, fur, paw prints — anything. How many times have I heard her say that “dogs are unsanitary” and “only crazy people keep animals in the house.” But I always tried not to pay attention, because these are my dogs, my family.
That day I was on a business trip. I left for just a couple of days, leaving the dogs at home, as usual — with enough food, water, and an automatic dispenser. I didn’t even think that my mother-in-law could interfere in my affairs. But she somehow got into the house — fortunately, she had a spare key, which I once gave her “just in case” — and used it.

After I found out, I immediately went there and took them back, I swear I’ve never been so happy to see tails wagging happily when I met them.

After that, I called my mother-in-law and invited her to talk. She came with the confidence that I would “thank” her. But a surprise awaited her at home:
I sat her in a chair and turned on the video from the cameras, where you can see how she drags my dogs. I played every detail in her face, repeating over and over: “You wanted them dead.” She started shaking.
And then I showed her the agreement that I had drawn up in advance with a lawyer – prohibiting her from approaching our house, my wife, children, and dogs. If she violates it, I will file a complaint for illegal entry and attempted cruelty to animals.
But I didn’t stop there. I sent a copy of the video to all our relatives and friends so that they could see that she was capable of killing innocent animals. Her reputation was ruined in an instant. She tried to justify herself, but no one listened to her anymore.
