interesting to know

A single gesture, a single distraction, and life can change in an instant. Courtney, a 34-year-old woman, tragically lost her life in a car accident after posting a message. This tragedy highlights the dangers of distracted driving.

Her life came to a sudden end after a head-on collision. On that fateful Thursday, she updated her Facebook status with a cheerful message, declaring that ‘happy music makes me HAPPY,’ just one minute before the accident was reported to the police. This seemingly innocuous action, performed at 8:33 a.m., preceded the emergency call received at 8:34 a.m., according to investigators. The crash was caused by selfies while driving.

High Point police revealed that Courtney was taking selfies and posting updates while driving northbound. Her 2005 Toyota Corolla crossed the median, ending up facing the wrong way before colliding with a southbound truck. The crash was so severe that, tragically, Courtney was killed instantly.
