The ballroom looked breathtaking.
Crystal chandeliers sparkled above elegant floral arrangements as guests settled into their seats.
Near the head table stood the bride’s elderly father.
His suit was old but carefully pressed.
The bride quietly walked over to the wedding coordinator.
“Please… seat my father in the back rows.”
She never noticed that he heard every word.
“My daughter… I only wanted to be close to you.”
Embarrassed, she glanced around at the guests.
“Dad… please. Everything has to be perfect today.”
Without saying another word, he lowered his head.
A few moments later, the master of ceremonies stepped onto the stage.
“This wedding became possible because of one extraordinary man.”
The room fell silent.
“The bride’s father worked night shifts for three years and sacrificed everything so his daughter could have the wedding she’d always dreamed of.”
Every guest turned toward the elderly man.
The bride’s smile disappeared.
Quietly wiping away a tear, her father walked toward the exit.
Only then did she realize what she had done.
She ran after him.
“Dad… please forgive me. I was wrong.”
He stopped but didn’t turn around immediately.
Finally, he faced her.
“I never wanted a seat at the head table.”
He looked gently into her eyes.
“I only wanted to know whether you’d become a good person.”
The bride burst into tears.
She embraced her father in front of everyone, realizing that no perfect wedding is worth hurting the person who spent years making your dreams come true.
