Blake Shelton Brings Down the House with No. 1 Hit “Texas” at the 2025 ACM Awards
FRISCO, TX – May 8, 2025 — Country music icon Blake Shelton lit up the stage at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards, held at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, with a powerful live performance of his chart-topping single “Texas.”
Taking the stage with his signature laid-back confidence, Shelton delivered a stripped-down yet electrifying rendition of the song that marked a major comeback for the country superstar. Backed by his full band, Shelton walked the stage with ease as the crowd rose to their feet, singing every word right along with him.
Released in November 2024, “Texas” was Shelton’s first solo single in over two years—and the wait was clearly worth it. The song shattered Shelton’s previous radio record with 156 first-week adds, and ultimately soared to become his 30th career No. 1 hit. With a clever lyrical nod to George Strait’s classic “All My Ex’s Live in Texas,” the track blended tradition and fresh energy, marking a new era for Shelton’s sound.
The ACM performance came just one day before the release of Shelton’s highly anticipated new album, Recreational Use Only, his first full-length project in four years. The 12-track album includes a mix of solo cuts and collaborations with surprise guest artists.
Shelton’s performance served as both a celebration of his latest success and a teaser of what’s to come from the seasoned artist, who continues to evolve while staying true to the genre that made him a star.
